studio etiquette

During busier times, please pre-book your class to ensure you have a spot. If you know you can’t make it, please cancel your booking so that it’s available for someone else.

  • Please arrive a few minutes prior to the start of class time so that you can set up your space and settle in.

  • When entering the practice space, please open and close the door softly, and unroll your mat quietly.

  • To avoid being a distraction to you, your neighbor, and your teacher, phones are not allowed in the practice space. Disconnecting for 60 minutes is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself.

  • To preserve the floors in the practice space, please leave your shoes in the lobby.

  • If you need to leave early, please let your teacher know ahead of time and step out of the practice space before savasana. We can have mat cleaner for you in the lobby so that we do not disturb those who are staying.

  • After class, please spray your blocks and let them dry in front of the prop rack. The team will pick them up after they dry.

  • Kindness matters. Please be kind to yourself, to your mat neighbors, and to the team.

  • This is your time to take for yourself. Please enjoy your own practice and do not try to assist the teacher, as this could cause confusion and is a potential liability issue.

I’ve never done yoga before. What’s the best place to begin?

Our classes are suitable for all levels, and our teachers are well-trained and skilled at providing various options during class to make you feel confident and at ease.

What should I bring to class?

Bring your mat (we have rentals available for $5), a towel, a water bottle, and a sense of adventure! Unplug and leave your phone in our secured lobby.

WHY YOGA?

Yoga is often recommended by medical professionals and researchers as a tool to help alleviate stress, depression, and anxiety, as well as increase mobility, flexibility, strength, and bone density. You'll likely experience a greater sense of empowerment, calm, and focus, whether you attend RELAX or HOT. Additionally, it offers a sense of connection. Friends become family at FloState.

I’m an athlete. Can yoga really help?

Absolutely! By choosing a class that complements your other endeavors, you can help foster muscular balance, add mobility and flexibility, and cultivate the focus necessary to succeed in your sport. We work with athletes ranging from the recreational approach all the way to the professional level.
